Camden Trio Arrested Fleeing Atlantic City Armed Robbery With Loaded Gun

Two men and a woman from Camden were arrested while trying to leave Atlantic City after an armed robbery, authorities said.

At 5:35 a.m. on Sunday, patrol officers responded to the beach block of New York Avenue for a report of a man robbed at gunpoint, according to Atlantic City police.

During the robbery, the suspects pulled up to the victim in their car with one suspect pointing a handgun at the victim while another demanded his wallet and cell phone, police said.

A woman also was in the vehicle with the men.

Officer Brandon Bower was able to get a detailed description of the suspects, the vehicle, and the gun used and alert officers in the area.

About 10 minutes later, Officers Wahab Malik and Ivaylo Ivanov saw the vehicle entering the Atlantic City Expressway, police said.

A motor vehicle stop was conducted and the three occupants, Naquan Beverly, 23; Mariah Foster, 23; and Robert Rand-Shambry, 19, were arrested, police said. All three are from Camden. 

A loaded handgun was found inside Foster’s purse, police said. 

All three suspects were charged with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and conspiracy, according to police. 

All three were being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
